Rodney O'Dell began in photography as a Communication Arts student at Wilmington College. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree, he moved back to his home town of Eaton, Ohio and began working at a local studio as a digital technician and staff photographer. Rodney would gain experience in the fields of school day portraits, sports team photography, sports action photography, homecoming and prom dances, weddings, and senior portraits during his time at the studio.
In 2006, Rodney decided to pursue another opportunity to become a graphic artist. Working in the Cincinnati area, the move further south was inevitable. As a graphic artist, Rodney worked on packaging for major brands in the Cincinnati area. He sharpened his skills in Photoshop and Illustrator during this time as well as becoming well versed in color correction and color profiling. During this time, Rodney was working as a freelance photographer for a major studio out of Dayton as well as shooting on location portrait sessions. In 2010, Rodney enrolled in Kaplan University to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree. Rodney completed his MBA within 2 years, graduating in June, 2012.
In November, 2012, Rodney O'Dell Photography opened in the Pendleton Art Center in Middletown, Ohio. Rodney is currently a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA). His passion for photography is what continues to drive him to succeed.
